The game consistently freezes every few seconds in very regular intervals. Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible. Otherwise, I've lost my entire city unless I can figure out a way to resolve this. I'm about to try the auto-save copy and hope it works. Right now, both of my saves are freezing. (So glad I had that turned on.) After that, I started saving 2 copies of the game before quitting. I was able to recover the first time by using the auto-save game. The only way to close out when this occurs is to force the game to quit using the computer's tools. You can access the games menu (cog in the upper-right corner), but if you try to quit, it just freezes. You can click on all the menus and menu items, but you can't click on any buildings or press play. For some reason after loading the game it freezes.
